About the site: This is kind of an experimental work-in-progress site. It is not meant to replace my main site (rgdaniel.com), but will probably have more activity for the next while.

The main focus of this site for me is learning Drupal (drupal.org) as a tool for assembling and displaying content in a more modular and flexible way than traditional HTML sites provide. It's a bit of a paradigm shift, as the saying goes, but a welcome one.

About the name: Barkwhistle is kind of an inside joke - it's a play on "Larkwhistle", as in world-famous Larkwhistle Garden, near Miller Lake up on the Bruce. I was given the honour of naming our new home in Owen Sound, and Barkwhistle came to mind, in honour of our dogs and our (inherited with the house) pheasants.
